This innovative system consists of TWO components.

1 The NextGen Cord Blood Collection System

Just after birth, your physician will use the industry’s largest FDA approved cord blood collection bag to collect your newborn’s umbilical cord stem cells. Our oversized, 250 milliliter bag enables your doctor to collect as much cord blood as possible. It is in a sterile wrapping, so it can be used for vaginal and C-section deliveries. The NextGen bag is the only one that has a real-time volume collection indicator, which allows clinicians to instantly see the amount of blood being collected. NextGen also incorporates a proprietary rinsing pouch containing CPD, an anti-clotting agent. When the pouch is activated, it pushes the valuable cord blood remaining in the tubing into the bag. This maximizes the recovery of cord blood stem cells, while minimizing the risk of clotting. There is also a second needle that can be inserted above the initial insertion point. Sometimes the bore or inside of the needle used in the initial insertion may get partially obstructed. This may slow or impede the collection. NextGen’s propriety second needle allows for a “second collection”. This increases the amount of total cord blood collected. These innovative design features were carefully thought out to help doctors collect more stem cells with ease.
